Project 365 - week 30

7.29.2014

Well hot ham, it's the end of July and I'm comfortably sitting in my apartment with no AC. I think it's God's way of saying, "I know last summer sucked like whoa, but doesn't that make this summer that much more enjoyable?" To which I reply, "Hell yes it does. THANK YOU, LORD." Now on with this week's photos.

He kept getting out of bed to tell me to turn the fan towards him (even though their little AC unit faces him). I told him that I would turn it towards him before *I* went to bed, and leave it on (poor, sweaty) Molly. I went in to check on them before bed and found that he had already positioned it twelve centimeters from his head. Stinker.

On this day, I took this crappy cell phone picture and sent it to my realtor to ask what these symbols meant and why the elevator buttons weren't working... He explained that it was maintenance time. Awesome. 6:30pm seems like a GREAT TIME to do elevator work. I had just pushed the kids four miles in the boat stroller and was sweating my guts out in the airless hallway waiting for the elevator to start working. Kids were fighting and screaming and there was no telling how long we might stand there, melting into a whiny puddle on the floor. So I folded up the stroller and we started walking up the stairs. I made it seven floors before the elevators started functioning again. I have never felt sweat flow in so many places as I have on that day. (And I feel like I've done a lot of sweating in my life.) And that, my friends, is why this is today's photo. Because after this photo was taken, no shits were given about non-air-conditioned activities like "taking pretty photos." The End.

Watching youtube videos on helicopters/running puppies/bulldozers while Molly works those arm muscles. (There is no chair underneath her. She just hangs like this for some reason.)

Banpo Bridge

Sunday evening at the soccer field. He needed my sunglasses because of that bright sun. And he's got dirty hands, obvs.

We don't have a dishwasher (unless you're staring at me), but this is a breeze compared to what Steve's washing after dinner. I laughed while I listened to Sam- "No, that's too HOT!" (one second later) "No, that's too COLD!" (screams!) I love doing dishes. Dishes don't talk.

Officially a two-car-family again!

7.22.2014

Thank you so so much for all of your sweet comments, prayers, well wishes, emails, texts, and facebook messages after my last post. I really do love my slice of the internet- the BEST people hang out here. xo

I expect to see lots of English mistakes in Korea- but not on post.

BFFs eating macaroni and making wayyyyy too much noisy.

A photo of my nugget- thank you for all the kind words and prayers!

Another evening at the soccer field. Some nights we play soccer, other nights we just run around and do whatever it takes to burn that pre-bedtime energy.

After we had a successful beef and leaf dinner, we browsed the market and came upon a small pet shop with three of Molly's favorite things.

This child.. sand everywhere. EVERYWHERE. But who can resist these chunky little toddler feet?

The kid can put away some noodles.

Thanks to Pinterest, no one is slinging applesauce all over my kitchen anymore! Molly remains unimpressed.

Grocery shopping with the gang

I asked him to stick his lip out and pout, and this is what we ended up with. He's trying his hardest not to smile at me.

So focused on riding her royal steed that she can't even be bothered to wave to her fan club. Luckily she has a good manager daddy that's willing to help her out.

After a rough Sunday with crazy kids and no husband (damn staff duty!), I decided to look up (instead of down at the playground where everyone else was hanging out with their dads/husbands-ugh! Tell me I'm not alone in these feelings when your husband is working and no one else is?) and was greeted with some pretty clouds.

Because a week of photos wouldn't be complete without a grainy cell phone shot.

Showing off his gymnastic abilities. Can you believe it's 8pm in this picture? Why doesn't he look tired?

Project 365 - week 27

7.08.2014

It's still Tuesday where you are, right? Good, so I'm not late. (Technically.)

Breakfast burritos and grapes. Served only on the finest of china.

He has been wearing this tupperware as a hat for as long as I can remember.

Independence Day!

We ate like Americans.

A little soccer before bed. I truly love Korea, but I miss having a backyard.

An after-dinner walk through town. Sam is clearly on the verge of blessing me out and Steve is checking to see how many eyes are upon us. (Hint: all of them)

Here is the sight I woke up to yesterday morning. Sam decided to have his own little party in the kitchen. We have gone over the appropriateness of Doritos for breakfast, but that lesson hasn't fully sunk in yet, I guess.

Project 365 - week 26

7.02.2014

Only one cell phone pic this week! Wahoo! And only two days late in posting! Shazam!

The long walk home with the ice cream cone.

Another "oops, almost forgot to take a picture today" picture. Steve is such a good sport.

There were no good pictures from our last visit to the kids cafe. People were ready to go, eat their suckers, play with their water guns, etc. Ain't nobody got time to sit still for pictures.

This child is OBSESSED with baby wipes. If I wipe her with one for any reason (after a diaper change, after dinner, etc), she needs her own (clean) wipe. She will take it all around the house, wiping windows, the AC unit, her teddy's bottom- you name it, she will wipe it. Don't you dare try to tell her she doesn't need one. Because she NEEDS it! (insert epic tantrums and fits!)

He's a real sweetie when he wants to be.

War Eagle!

Fakers.

Some (clearly awesome) person nominated me for a military mom blog... thing. If you'd like to click on this here blue button and click the heart next to my photo (which is of me and Steve from college- I wish we still looked so well rested!), I'd appreciate it!

Project 365 - week 25

6.24.2014

Alternately titled- a day late and $4 short. I only took three of this week's photos with my real camera, despite lugging the dang thing with me EVERYWHERE. I am getting so bored with taking the same shot as below, of a child standing in the living room, but I also do not always remember to get my camera out of my bag when we are out and about doing things either. So I present to you, a busy week in mostly cell phone pictures.

She farted. And that's why she's laughing.

Steve had to work late and we had no groceries at home. Not to mention that I had zero desire to make anything for anyone. PX food court it is! Bad food and good people-watching. We walked out of there only to realize that the commi was already closed. Gotta love the random hours they keep here.

Aggie and family have arrived in Korea!!! We went down to Seoul to hang out and play and Molly was so infatuated with "Bebe Thee-Thee" (Baby Cece). She loves touching her hair, her face, open-mouth kissing her (poor Cece), and being anywhere near her. Sam was just as excited to see Aiden and Levi, minus all the kissing and touching. We are so happy they are here!

A little bit of shopping at the PX. She loves to carry bags. Especially when they are light.

The only picture I had from Sunday was this screenshot of a listing on one of the facebook pages here. This was despite the fact that we spent the whole day in Seoul with Aggie and fam again. I didn't think to take a picture while we were there. WHERE IS MY BRAIN???

Oh hey! A photo from my camera! And whaddaya know? It looks JUST LIKE the first picture from my camera! I need to find a way to take less boring photos.

A few days ago, Sam said something like, "A pwane in da sky!" but sometimes he talks really fast, so all my brain heard was, "PIE!" After that, I couldn't stop thinking about pie, but I had to wait until the commi was open again so that I could buy frozen pie crusts. I am no Betty Crocker. I will not attempt to make my own. Baking the pie was frustrating enough. I baked it after the kids went to bed (who wants to share pie?? Not this girl!) and Steve and I watched House Hunters and then after 45 minutes, it was still not cooked through, so Steve went to bed and I basically stayed up until 10:30 at night so I could be sure the pie was baked and then I ate a big slice while reading gossipy celebrity internet news. Then I left Steve a note telling him to take the pie to work and tell the guys that his commander's wife made the pie. (It got really ugly once I cut into it, and I don't want my name on something like that.) Being the saint that he is, he left the pie, knowing full well that I'm probably going to want some tonight after the kids go to bed. Gosh I love him. And pie.

Project 365 - week 24

6.17.2014

"I'm gonna wook in dis wens and see sumfin." I just see the prettiest eyes on the other end!

We had a bunch of these leftover dollar store doggies from Molly's puppy party and she thinks they are just the best. She is giving this one some lovin' before she grooms him and takes him to bed.

"Take a pitchur of me wif mah cars, Muwm!"

What's more fun than kicking off Father's Day weekend with construction? AND helpers.

We were driving down the road to Emart when all of a sudden we decided that going to Seoul sounded better. So the aquarium it was! I don't even care for aquariums that much (oh look! more tanks full of nasty-looking fish!) and this was easily the best one I've ever seen. ((Also, Steve has this basic civilian uniform of Phillies tshirts and blue Auburn basketball shorts. He doesn't just go around wearing the same clothes day in and day out, despite what it looks like here..))

A BUG!

Dinner. Delish.
