So really I'm just mad that the people at The Weather Channel aren't psychics

11.29.2011

I don't know why I let them get my hopes up so much when they've burned me so bad in the past. Yet I still put some sort of stock in what the weather people say! They predict rain and we have the most sunshine-y of days. They predict temps with a high of 70 and it blows through that weak ceiling and hits 85. And last night they were blowing hot air up my skirt telling me that we were going to wake up to SNOW. Y'all, don't mess with me about snow. Please don't even speak of it unless it's some kind of SURE THING. But lo and behold I fall right into their little predictions of flurries and waking up to a snow-covered neighborhood. Steve's alarm went off at 4am... he opened the blinds... no snow. FOILED AGAIN.
Although I did happen to look at the radar this morning (I KNOW, SO STUPID) and it shows that the snow patch hasn't even really moved since last night, so there is some sort of ridiculous chance that it could snow today. Not that I can be wholeheartedly excited about this development since Steve will have to SLEEP out in it while I'm snuggled up in flannel sheets with the heater on. (But I'm definitely, secretly still excited.)

In other news, we had a very successful Thanksgiving. While this is usually the star of the show...

(and I will admit that that bird was RAWTHER tasty),
...I feel like this had the spotlight completely.

All my siblings were able to be together for this holiday (no easy thing when we're literally spread from coast to coast) and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. My parents cooked something like 30 dozen eggs, 96 pieces of bacon, 12lbs of cheese grits, a 22lb bird, a slew of butter-filled sides, and my sister contributed to some pies that were (you guessed it!) filled with double the butter. (A slight oversight, but it turned out QUITE well.) Uh, needless to say, we ate pretty darn well.

Steve and I got to go to the "big city" and do a little Black Friday shopping (if you can even call shopping at 10am that day still Black Friday) and didn't find too terribly much. We're still waffling on what to get Sam for Christmas. Steve's blanket gift for everyone seems to be "Second Baby" but I keep reminding him that s/he won't actually ARRIVE until March, and that seems a tad belated to try and pass off as a Christmas gift. (I also keep having to remind him that I'M giving HIM this child, and not vice versa. So my gift to him is technically covered, but I would enjoy a nice set of pearls thankyouverymuch.)

We're doing a new thing this year in terms of gift-giving within our little family and trying to stay focused on the TRUE meaning of the holiday. We are limiting our gifts to three. So basically, Sam will receive one gift from my parents, one gift from Steve's parents, and one gift from Steve and me. Same goes for Steve and me as well. Let's face it, the child needs another toy like he needs a hole in the head, and I don't want him growing up associating Christmas with toys toys TOYS and gimme gimme gimme. I understand that he is entirely too young to grasp the REAL meaning of Christmas just yet, but I also don't want to continue over-celebrating the commercialism and then once he's four or so, we just yank the rug out from under him and start up some new rules. Having this "tradition" of sorts set in place from the beginning will help make this easier to understand once he is finally old enough.

I'm sure I sound like a big ol' meanie because surely MY parents didn't deprive me in such a way when I was growing up. And no, they didn't. Steve's parents didn't either. We had AMAZING Christmases. We arrived at the number three because Jesus received three gifts. (There also happen to be two sets of grandparents and one set of parents, so that number lined up pretty well for us, eh?) And I'm not trying to imply that receiving more than three gifts for Christmas is somehow gluttonous or wrong. It's perfectly normal! But this is a decision that our little family has made and we feel like it's the right choice for US. I want there to be a BIGGER focus on why we TRULY celebrate Christmas and less on why Walmart wants us to celebrate Christmas.

Speaking of Walmart, I have to go there today to try and find Advent candles (oh the IRONY), that is, if the snow doesn't start falling first. (<Just instantly jinxed all the snow in our area>) Because as my dear mother said to me on the phone yesterday, "You remember how to drive in the snow, right? You don't."

Such a wise lady (teaching Sam how to properly pose for the camera)

I am basically recording the events of these crazy days so I can read about it in the future. Feel free to skip this post if daily life bores you.

11.22.2011

This week has been BUSY so far. Much busier than I anticipated. While I knew that there were a few things going on before leaving for Thanksgiving, it still has not registered in my wee brain that all of these little things now take for-freakin-ever now that there is a small person whose nap schedule MUST be maintained and who is not particularly happy about going for car rides unless I stock him up with a nice sippy cup full of milk.

So yesterday was my POC training in the morning down the road, and I dropped Sam off with my good friend for a "playdate." After the training, I picked Sam up and headed home for his nap. Steve anticipated on coming home for lunch (I have LEFTOVERS! Yippee!), but then got called to a meeting at the last minute, so he needed me to bring him something (LEFTOVERS, just not heated!). So I had to wait for Sam to wake up, then we rushed in the lunch traffic to take Steve his lunch, dropped that off with him, and headed back to the house to feed Sam lunch. Luckily, Sam was in a very cooperative mood with the eating yesterday (the past few days have been a battle of the wills to say the least) and we finished that up fairly quickly. (Well, thinking back, it wasn't quick at all, but it was quick for US.)

Wiped Sammy down, loaded him back up, rounded up the dogs, harnesses, leashes, and headed off to the vet. Y'all, this vet (OFF POST) was such a different and glorious experience compared to the last vet experience. People there were willing to HELP me, and I also wised up and only brought one dog in at a time, which proved to be totally unnecessary, as the vet clinic people were more than willing to take a dog from me, seeing that I had to fill out paperwork and try to entertain the small person. They were quick and nice and helpful and we were in and out in no time. I don't care if they charge double what they would on post, those people are worth their weight in GOLD.

After leaving the vet, we stopped off at the house to drop off the dogs, because holy heavens those dogs were stinky. Sam and I headed back out to the stables on post to drop off all of the dogs' new paperwork so that they can be boarded over Thanksgiving. (Nothing like waiting til the last minute, huh???) After filling out MORE paperwork there and trying to remember what size scoop we use to feed the dogs their food, we were off again. Back to the house and down for a nap. The afternoon nap has been giving us trouble lately (as in, the small person flat out REFUSES to go down for one at all, and instead, will scream his lungs out for an hour straight, only to come out of his crib in a major funk and fuss and fight for the rest of the day). But thankfully, he went down without a fight and slept almost two hours.

During that time, I cooked the scariest-looking ham EVER (like, I didn't even want to touch it with my hands, and I'm not the type that is leery of raw meat), I learned that I would need to make mashed potatoes for 90+ people the next day (today), and that I would have to figure out how to do that, as well as drop Steve's truck off at the Chevrolet dealer in Hoptown so it can be repaired while we're out of town. Luckily (I guess), my friend needs me to cook a brisket for her today since she has an FRG meeting as well, and that will give me time to make all those mashed potatoes. (The mashed potatoes are for OUR company's FRG Thanksgiving potluck/meeting.) My friend will come pick up her brisket as we're fixing to leave for our meeting, and then she will come back to our house after the meetings are over and sit here while Sam sleeps so that Steve and I can drive up to Hoptown and drop off his truck.

THEN I will try not to stress out about all of the things that I have not packed for our Thanksgiving trip tomorrow. I will try to make a master list today of all the things we need to take down with us, pack it in the morning, drop off the dogs at the stables, remember to take a tub of their food with them, come home and pack up the car so that when Steve gets through with his meeting, we can roll out of this crazy town and head to my parents' house!! Sounds simple enough, right?
Well I'm off to go battle the crazies who are doing their Thanksgiving shopping at the commissary this morning so that I can buy 15lbs of potatoes and 8 buckets of sour cream. Hopefully this tornadic weather will settle down for a minute so that my hair doesn't frizz to oblivion while I'm running in and out of there.

Gratuitous picture (because if you got this far in this post, you deserve it):

Ultrasounds, a birthday, and crafts, oh my!

11.18.2011

So I had my monthly doctor's appointment on my birthday. You think that would have made me exempt from being weighed. But no.
I got the ultrasound "results" from my doctor, and really expected to hear a bunch of nothing. I mean, we're not finding out the sex, we didn't do any of the usual testing for genetic abnormalities, and everything LOOKED to be in place to me. (But I am also no ultrasound technician. I was looking at a brain and thought it was a stomach... So maybe it's a boy?)

You can imagine my surprise when she told me that since the baby was in such a funny position during the ultrasound, that she was not able to see everything she wanted to. They didn't get a shot of the full spine, only bits and pieces at at time, couldn't see kidneys, etc. So she's sending me BACK to the fancy shmancy ultrasound imaging center to get ANOTHER one done. Can you believe it? And right after I wrote that they were too stingy to give me extra ultrasounds during this pregnancy. Heh.

After my appointment, Sam and a friend took me out to lunch at Chick-fil-a, which we have found is the Clarksville Mecca for Moms With Kids Stuck In The House On A Rainy Day. We situated ourselves right between the entrance and the glassed-in play area. Talk about an easy lunch! I actually got to EAT mine! Sam is so occupied at that place. Which means he will also eat without fussing. Score! If only this place wasn't something like thirty minutes from my house! Gah...

After lunch, we headed on back to post and Sam took a nice long nap. Too bad he woke up in a HORRIBLE mood. Couldn't wait for Daddy to get home! And Steve thinks SAM is excited to see him at the end of the day. Ha!

Steve was quite on top of the birthday-game this year. I ribbed him quite a bit about my birthday (or lack thereof) last year and it got him pretty motivated to do something. To clarify, my birthday was not celebrated last year due to the fact that Steve was in BOLC and gone all the live-long day, we were dealing with The Newborn That Never Slept, and the last thing I needed during the Let Me Lose The Baby Weight Already time was cake. So I was quite content that he DIDN'T do anything. The best gift he could have given me would have been sweet SLEEP. And I honestly can't remember if he did or not. He helped a lot, so I will count that and call it good.

But SINCE that time last year, I have made somewhat of a big deal out of that missed birthday to Steve- mainly to get a rise out of him, but also to remind him that I would love to NOT cook dinner on my birthday and that a card would be lovely and appreciated.

So! This year he ordered a cake AND brought me three bouquets of flowers AND gave me a ridiculously funny card. He also took Sam off my hands the minute he got home and let me call my mama while he got Sam ready for bed and played with him. All of this he coordinated for me while he is having the busiest (and most STRESSFUL) week of training out in the field. (Prayers for Steve and his job would be MUCH appreciated please and thank you.)

Also, I actually have made a few things that I've pinned on Pinterest. Believe it or not. I just never take pictures of them! So! To rectify that situation, I took pictures of the Halloween craft I did with Sam,

Those are supposed to be ghosts, ok?

And here it is on our very unfinished picture wall where I will continue to hang these works of art.

and also the Thanksgiving craft we made yesterday.

The hands are obviously mine and Steve's (not Sam's) since Sam will hardly allow us to wipe his hands after a meal, much less PAINT them and hold them completely open and still onto a piece of canvas. I did paint and wrestle his foot on there last night while he was being held hostage in the high chair though. Reluctant little artist.

I've made tons and tons of recipes off of Pinterest, with most of them turning out decently, although I will not recommend freezing the crockpot potato soup because it thaws out looking miiiiiiiighty scary.

Happy Birthing Day

11.16.2011

Dear Mama,
Twenty-five years ago today you were in the very uncomfortable situation of giving birth to me. Thank you.

Thank you for choosing a natural birth with only my safety (obviously not your comfort!) in mind.

Thank you for choosing to breastfeed me, and I'm eternally sorry if I ever bit you. I can now understand what a huge commitment breastfeeding is, and just how painful it can be!

Thank you for giving me such amazing siblings. While I know that having four children under the age of four had to be ROUGH (in a way that I can't begin to fathom), I truly LOVED having such perfect playmates.

Thank you for raising me in a faith-filled home. Even to this day, when I say nighttime prayers out loud to Sam, I still say, "Bless Mama, Daddy, Daniel, Jennifer, Travis, Matthew, Elizabeth, and all our friends and relatives. Amen." And then I have to back up and include Steve and Sam because, er, they're my family now too!

Thank you for taking us OUT. I know that it had to be zillion times easier for you to just stay put at home. Why would you want to take five kids to the grocery store? Or to a playground? Or anywhere that wasn't our fenced-in backyard? I know now that getting out was not only good for us, but good for you as well, and I'm glad you made such a huge effort to get us all out and doing things.

Thank you for being a stay-at-home-mom. I know that things were tight with only one income, but I never felt like we lacked ANYTHING. My childhood was the best.

Thank you for showing me what a healthy marriage looks like.

I'm sorry for ever making fun of your sweatpants. I totally get it now. I swear.

Thank you for taking us on the long trips to visit our grandparents. While traveling with that many small people (and usually on a Friday during Lent, no less) had to be a stress-inducing event, I appreciate having the chance to form a relationship with the people who raised you and Dad.

Thank you for all of the little notes you left in the lunchboxes during school, the letters and newspaper articles in the mail during college, and the continued notes and articles you still send today. Receiving mail is still really exciting.

Thank you for the gift of college, by-the-way! To not have student loans and outstanding debt lingering over me is such a blessing and I am so grateful for it. Again, I know that had to be TOUGH, what with all the other siblings cycling in and out of college, but I greatly appreciate it.

I'm sorry for not appreciating all of these great things you've done for me sooner. It took me having my own child to fully realize the sacrifices you made and how hard you had to work to make such a great life for me.

Thank you for everything, Mama, and Happy Birthing Day.

Second Baby update

11.14.2011

This past Friday I had my 20-week ultrasound. If I understand correctly, that is the only ultrasound I will get unless something goes super-wrong with this baby, which is strange. I had this exact insurance with Sam and I seemed to get ultrasounds all the time, willy-nilly.
Can't find the heartbeat easily enough after 0.2 seconds of sticking the wand on my stomach? Break out the ultrasound!
Can't tell if that's a bum or a brain? Ultrasound!
But here? They are very strict. Also? Too lazy to fill out paperwork in order to secure more ultrasounds. Oh well.

S/he looks well. The ultrasound tech didn't tell me much about Second Baby, other than pointing out his/her legs, arms, brain, heartbeat, etc. I will go in for a regular appointment on the 16th to hear the "results" of the ultrasound. The tech thought it was cool that we weren't finding out the gender and then said that she really couldn't tell anyway because of the position the baby was in. (Facing my BACK, of COURSE.) She did manage to get some really creepy front face pictures somehow though and I have to admit that I would just rather wait and see those things after birth. Worthy of nightmares, for sure.

S/he also had the hiccups, which I could actually feel since the tech was pressing down on me the entire time. I'll admit that I haven't felt much movement at all during this pregnancy. I'm not sure if it is because the focus is shifted elsewhere (SAM) or because this kid is just not high-energy. I'm sort of banking on Option Two and hope that s/he is chill and go-with-the-flow-like. I am enjoying the not-feeling-every-movement time now though, because I know that as space becomes harder to find, I will be feeling every little twitch this tiny person has.

Steve has had a 4-day weekend this weekend and it has been amazing. With him being out in the field so much, we are really enjoying all this time together. Sam LOVES having his daddy play with him and feed him and make truck noises with him, and I LOVE having Steve change some poopy diapers. He also got to come to the ultrasound and now feels that Second Baby is indeed, a reality. So we've been scouring the internet the past few days looking for the Safest And Most Reliable Yet Not Red Carseat, a double stroller that will work for a toddler and infant that is NOT a side-by-side, and a new crib for Sam (since Second Baby will be inheriting all of Sam's baby things).

I scored a bike trailer that can convert into a jogging stroller off of Craigslist for $45 yesterday and can't wait to use it. It's orange (duh) and can easily fit Sam and Second Baby (once Second Baby gets much older). For now, it will most likely house Sam and Odie since Odie is not the running type. She will be quite content to ride along in a chariot with her human counterpart. (Fear not, pictures will DEFINITELY be taken to document this.)

Also? I had to turn on the AC last night out of fear that my BABY was going to sweat through his sheets during the night. THE AC. IN NOVEMBER. I don't think I need to tell you what is wrong with this picture. All I can say is that our next duty station better be further north. MUCH further. I'm ok with Alaska.

Don't forget...

11.11.2011

...today is Veterans' Day. Keep in mind what others have given up for our freedom and thank those still serving.

What if?

11.10.2011

Because it's a slow news week, because Steve is STILL not home, and because I am trying to avoid thinking about what to cook for dinner, I stole this little quiz/questionnaire from Somewhere Over The Camo.

What if I were to get pregnant?
Hm. Well. I currently am, and I was under the vague impression that you couldn't get double pregnant.

What if I could have any job in the world?
I personally feel like I have the best job in the world right now. While being employed in the sense that I could earn a paycheck sounds rewarding, and the interaction with adults that don't speak primarily in whine would be delightful, I get a lot of gratification from knowing that all the clothes and sheets are clean, dishes are done, dinner is ready, and I'm a big part of making my family's house a home.

What if I had a day all to myself?
Well this scenario would be LOVELY. I actually mentioned this to Steve last week. "What if we didn't have Sam right now? What would I be doing this week while you're out in the field?" I could peruse the new Bed, Bath and Beyond store that opened up here for as long as I see fit. (Shut it. There isn't much else to do in this town.) I could grab lunch with a friend. And ENJOY IT. I could get a pedicure!
But in doing all of that, I would miss out on a lot. Mainly, Sam doing bizarr-o laps downstairs at warp speed, the giggles that come from lotioning him up after a bath, and truly enjoying the times that I DO have to myself, like his naps. With that said though, I did sign him up at CYS this week so that he can be a part of hourly care here on post whenever I see fit. Heh.

What if I could get married all over again?
If I could get married again, I would obviously pick the exact same person. I would pick him again a million times. I might choose a different dress. This comes from watching multiple episodes of "Say Yes To The Dress" and realizing that maybe I had a very narrow vision of what I should look like on my wedding day. I would definitely not change a thing about that groom's cake though. Le-YUM.

What if I could live anywhere in the US?
I would honestly steer clear of the South. (Sorry family!) I'm just REALLY sick of the wishy-washy-hot-as-hell-in-July weather year-round and am ready for the day when I don't sweat through my shirt. I would love to live someplace that experiences all four seasons, but also where the people are friendly and polite and don't want to make everything into a political argument. Maybe then I could downgrade to a non-prescription strength deodorant.

What if I were to have more children?
Well that is happening whether I'm ready or not. And while I might not be physically/emotionally/mentally prepared for more kids (hahahahaha I'M NOT. Yet.), I will gladly welcome any addition to our family. I am flabbergasted still that God sees me fit to care for even one child, much less two. I'll take as many as he'll give me. (But I will most likely draw the line before we get to Duggar-proportions. I just could NOT. handle. twenty. kids. No.)

What if I could have any talent in the world?
I would love to have the ability to make really good, meaningful small talk. I feel like this would come in very handy in the military world since you are somewhat forced to converse with people you met four seconds ago and try and act like it isn't really awkward. I have gotten better at it, but am nowhere near anything resembling "graceful" in new social settings. I would also love to remember people's names after they introduce themselves to me. That might also help with the small talk.

What if you met me in real life?
Well I think everyone who reads this blog knows me in real life. Otherwise you probably wouldn't be reading. Because really- who could stand the mundane things I write about on here? "My kid got a tooth!" "My kid ate solids!" "We moved again!"
But I guess if I DON'T actually know you in real life, I would probably not make the best first impression on you since I blow at small talk. So...

What if I went back to school?
I'm almost hesitant to answer this question for fear that the phone calls will start up again. I swear every college (online and physical) has called me the last few months MULTIPLE TIMES A DAY asking me about going back to school. I then have to cut them off very rudely and explain that I already WENT to school, I got my MRS degree, and I now specialize in domestic engineering. I have next to no desire to return to school.

What if money weren't an object?
If money weren't an object, I would love to travel. Everywhere. Nonstop. I would love to renovate a really old Southern house so that it still has charm and character, but so that it also has the amenities that Southern people need. (Like, an A/C unit. And a huge kitchen sink.) I would also pay someone else to bathe the dogs. And I would DEFINITELY hire a night nurse for Second Baby. Because night feedings are not my specialty. Here's to hoping Steve hits the Powerball really soon.

What if I could meet one celebrity?
Hm. I'm not sure I would want to. Most celebrities are SO WEIRD. And I don't think they're nearly as special as they are dumb. So, I would probably pass.

What if I could only shop at one store for the rest of my life?
It would definitely be Target. Hands down. Actually, a Super Target. They don't make those here in Nowheresville though, but I've seen 'em in the big city.

What if I could choose an animal/pet?
I would definitely choose Odie. There is no denying that she has the sweetest face and personality out there. And she looks about a gazillion times sweeter next to her yelpy, whiney sister. I don't know if I could ever choose another pug though, for the sheer fact that I don't think it could ever live up to the standards that Odie has set.

What if I could go on a trip right now?
I would re-do our honeymoon. Same vacation/cruise/time of year, but we would do more, see more, and pack a friggin' carry-on.

What if I had to choose between a house cleaner and a professional chef?
I would choose the professional chef, no doubt! I don't mind cleaning the house or running errands, but cooking after a long day? Ugh. A chef to make anything we want? Healthy? Junky? Late-night? Early morning? Oh yeah.

What if I had the option to get plastic surgery?
I don't think I'm high enough on the totem pole to correct God. He made me like this for a reason and I see no sense in changing it. He's got a sense of humor about some things though, amiright?

These pictures have nothing whatsoever to do with this post

11.07.2011

Everyone gets so excited each year for Daylight Savings Time and that "extra hour" of sleep. I honestly can't remember DST last year because I was still reeling from trying to mother a wee baby and my eyes were most likely bugging out of my head. And truthfully? There was no "extra hour" of sleeping going on at our house. Well this year turned out to be much nicer (in the sleep-all-night-department), but I'm still not finding the extra hour in bed.

Sleep? More? Yo Ma- are you crazy?

Instead, yesterday turned out to be: THE LONGEST DAY OF MY LIFE. We got up at 6 (because it felt like 7! Looked like 7! Must be 7!), scrambled to get to a new church in Hopkinsville, got confused by our own wrong clocks, but finally made it to mass (and only 5 minutes late!). I didn't really HEAR anything that went on during mass because I was The Cheerio Machine and Page Turner for Sam and that only kept him occupied for so long. On the flip side, Steve couldn't SEE anything because he left his glasses in the car and wore his prescription sunglasses to church. So. I'm not sure who got the short end of that stick.
Eventually Sam had had enough of sitting on my lap and I had had enough of trying to entertain him and keep up with what was going on around me. So we set out to find the childcare. Yes! Childcare! I will not lie and say that that did not influence our decision to drive to Hoptown for mass. IT TOTALLY DID.

Unfortunately, the childcare must have been housed in another building and since it was our first time at this church, I didn't think setting out to find it was such a hot idea. We will get there earlier next time, and we WILL find it, goshdarnit.
I ran into another mom in the foyer who had also given up on the dream of absorbing anything from the mass and asked about the childcare. She said she didn't know anything about it (probably just a rumor they started to up attendance! Gah!) but they had a "special little room" for the crying babies. My jaw almost hit the floor. You mean, an honest-to-God CRY ROOM? I couldn't believe it. But once I stepped inside, I was a believer.
Actually, it was more like a VIP lounge than a typical cry room, but we did have a pretty great view of the altar, could hear everything that was going on, and a private bathroom to boot! I felt like the clouds were going to part and the angels would descend upon me at any minute. But then mass ended and we had to find Steve in the flood of people.
While I don't think it's the perfect church for us, it is definitely a step up from where we've been going. (Did I mention the CRY ROOM????) We need to accept that we will never find a church as amazing as the one we attended in Auburn, and realize that this is perfect for us NOW.

But seriously, Catholic Churches In Our Area (and all around the world)??? You cannot condemn birth control AND refuse to build cry rooms into your churches. YOU JUST CAN'T. Build the cry rooms and we will come.
<stepping off of soap box>

The longest day of my life FINALLY ended though. And another began at oh-dark-thirty this morning! Said bye to the hubs for another week in the field because the training around here? Is ENDLESS.

We'll see if this week doesn't give The Longest Day Of My Life a run for its money.

I'm tired just thinking about it!

The shortest Halloween of my life

11.01.2011

I was totally unprepared for Halloween this year. I waited until the day before Halloween to buy candy at the commissary (out of fear that I would eat it all before trick-or-treat time), and when I got to the Halloween aisle, it had been turned into a CHRISTMAS aisle!?! Seriously???

Luckily there were a few boxes in various areas of the store that still had some good candy left in them. We got eight bags and wondered how many Three Musketeers we would be left with. It looked like SO MUCH CANDY.

But y'all? We ran out of candy within 20 minutes. TWENTY MINUTES. We started giving out mini bags of popcorn and some lemonade drink mixes. We started looking REALLY stingy towards the end when we were giving out one piece of candy per trick-or-treater. But these kids came in groups of at least 15. We knew the end was near...

Doing a little reading before putting on his costume

We hung a sign on our door and turned out the lights and no one rang our doorbell after that (surprisingly). It was a very interesting night and next year I will be sure to buy a LOT more candy so I don't have to hear some kid say, "Popcorn? Really, mister?"

And now, some cute pictures of our little Auburn Tiger.

Thanks for the costume, Mama!

This blanket was HANDMADE by my dear friend Samantha for Sam's birthday. Isn't it gorgeous??

Happy Halloween!
