You don't need a translating app when you have smiles and hugs

I don't even know if I have the words to describe how much I love the people in this country.

Sam, giving a huge hug to this sweet ajumma (older Korean lady).

Molly refuses to be left out of this.

The excitement on this woman's face almost made me tear up.




This sweet ajumma hugged my babies as they fought to be in her arms and hold her attention, and she generously dished out big hugs and planted kisses all over their chunky, porcelain cheeks until they ran back to me, giggling and chasing each other around the playground. 



I have other things that need to be blogged (Molly turned 2, say wha?), but this was one of the sweetest things that's been caught on my camera lately, so I had to share. Never underestimate the power of a hug!

    I love that so much! And oddly was what I needed this morning. I woke up CRABBY and this put a much needed smile on my face.

    Isn't it nice that you don't have to worry about your kids and strangers? In Okinawa, it was the same way. They love kids. LOVE them. It wasn't odd to find an older lady playing with your kids, giving them treats, or whatever. I could go shopping and the girls working in smaller stores would entertain/be entertained by my daughter while I shopped. That kind of stuff doesn't happen here. I miss not having to worry about my children's safety.

    That is so freaking sweet. It's weird, I can't imagine feeling okay with that if it was some random stranger at a park here. But a random Asian stranger in a new country? Yeah, go for it. You want to babysit while I take a nap on this bench? I trust you!
