Bubbles and babies

2.28.2012

So apparently Steve has ideas of his own when it comes to my to-do lists.

I'm slowly but surely coming around to this idea since waddling around with a bowling ball between my legs is starting to wear on me. I also require assistance getting off of the floor now. This is no good when Sam INSISTS that I sit down there and play with him during the day. Sitting two feet above him on the couch only elicits disapproving grunts and whines until I come down to his level.
It is also quite troubling when I am in this position, only to have Bowling Ball Baby sucker punch me in the bladder, requiring me to lift myself off of the floor quickly and scramble to the bathroom. (Note: big, pregnant ladies do not "scramble" anywhere quickly or well.)

In other scintillating news, we got Sam a bubble wand at the store the other day.

I thought that it was going to be an amazing three dollar investment. He seemed entranced by the bubbles I blew at him one day, but, as it turns out, I am not a talented bubble-blower. I tend to just blow the bubble solution all over Sam's and my faces. So a bubble wand seemed to be the solution. Except once we got the bubbles going, he seemed a little confused as to where the bubbles were going, and then got distracted with his field o' freedom behind our house.

And since Steve is a little bubble-wand-retarded (picture someone swatting at a hive of angry bees), we ran out of bubble solution pretty quickly. Bless his heart.

I was obviously content to park my whale butt on the sidewalk and take pictures of my two favorite men. (Remember: I had Steve The Crane there to help me up, so I wasn't worried that I would be left out in the field by myself.)

Fear not, warm-weather-appropriate ankle socks are in Sam's immediate future. And possibly a new pair of shoes.

I will have to get out our bubbles from last spring (Gaga got us a big thing of them) and our wand!

    Thanks for the reminder ;)

    1. We will have to try again on a day that isn't so windy. I don't think he totally understood what was going on. LOL

  2. How cute is that?!?!? Lucas loves bubbles! I know all too well about needing help to get up and trying to waddle to the bathroom. :)

    1. Got a pineapple yesterday, so we're attempting to work on it. lol Maybe if I quit feeding this baby chocolate s/he would be more interested in coming out. I think I'm making him/her too comfy in there. ;)

    1. Yes! I am a total list-maker, and I think Steve MIGHT be poking a little fun at me. ;) That, or my pregnancy brain is becoming all-consuming and he's truly worried that I might forget to have this baby.

    1. I know I'm a freak, but I'd totally prefer some cooler/colder weather.. lol I love doing outdoor things with Sam, but I know that "nice" weather is only an indicator that we're fixing to do some major sweating and I almost can't enjoy it because of that. LOL I KNOW. THINGS ARE WRONG WITH ME.

    1. I know, and I can't really understand WHY. Maybe he thinks I will be more fun post-baby. (I can assure you I won't be. Not immediately at least. I will be a groggy zombie-o-death. Maybe that somehow trumps waddling pregnant lady who can't get enough chocolate...)

  7. Quinn was 8 days late so I was DYING for him to get here since he was the first baby and all... plus it was July in Texas. Madden- well he nearly killed me from anxiety before he was even born. I say from here on out babies are free to show up whenever the want. Nothing can be more stressful than what those 2 already did to me. :)

    1. Summer babies omg. I can't even imagine what 8 days overdue in Texas looks like. Probably a lot like hell. And Madden- that kid made quite the appearance! lol

  8. Oh, bless you! I really don't miss that stage of the waddle and the constant peeing. We moved when I was very pregnant so I slept on an air mattress during months 8 & 9 of the pregnancy. I know the whole I-can't-get-out-of-the-floor-quick-enough-to-pee routine quite well. Also, I know I probably say this all the time, but how freakin' cute is that kid? Sam is quite the looker!
