I could show you some photos and let you think that Org Day with Steve's new company last week was all rainbows and unicorns and fairy dust and my kids were so well-behaved the entire time and I didn't sweat a drop and no eyes were rolled.
But those would be
LIES. (
Of course I was sweating the entire time.)
There were some high points though. There was the occasional breeze, a helicopter buzzing about, humvees and tanks cruising constantly down the street next to us, and a playground the kids had never played on before.
 |
A new chew toy apparently |
But there were some low points as well.
 |
Morning nap? Missed. Brother's water bottle? Hers. |
 |
Wants to sit in the truck. |
 |
Doesn't want to sit in the truck. |
 |
Don't pick me up or touch me or even look at me the wrong way and DEFINITELY STOP TAKING MY PICTURE, MOM. |
 |
Naturally instead of stopping this, I just take pictures of it happening. Because this scene plays out approximately 8,496 times per day. <GROAN> |

It's like he's happy that she's not. |
Overall, I mostly shared Molly's sentiments about our morning out,
... but it was still nice to be with Steve on a work day and get out of the house to see something new. (Trying to end on an optimistic note, here! Silver linings, people, silver linings!)
Lol her face!!!! You are not alone friend, you are not alone!
ReplyDeleteAh kids... right? Penny has the best "bitchy resting face" and it sorta looks like Molly does too ;)
ReplyDeleteHer expressions are priceless! And Sam grinning while Steve picks her up because she is unhappy = hilarious and I can say that because I totally relate. Oh and I love that picture with Molly looking out of the bubble thing on the play ground. :)
ReplyDeleteWow! She does not hide her feelings at all. I've seen the brother take his cup back a million and a half times :) glad you were able to get out of the house and spend time with Steve!!!!
ReplyDeleteI need you to narrate my life. You commentary is TOO good. Almost as good as Molly's face.
ReplyDeleteHahaha she is so adorable, that face is priceless.
ReplyDeleteI love how you can use the I Hate the Heat label where ever you live.
ReplyDeleteHaha! That face is AMAZING! I feel like that should be your new blog button or the theme picture for your Korea journey so far! :)
ReplyDeleteI love that your kids fight because mind do all.the.time. too and I always think I'm the only one!
ReplyDeleteAlso, I hate mandatory fun days - it's hard enough to do a family event with two toddlers anyway, add in the fact that it's mandatory, not on our schedule, you get my drift. Stress me out.
These are the moments you'll look back on and smile at one day, right?!?! :)
ReplyDeleteBut can we talk about how happy Steve looks in all these pictures? He has an overwhelming amount of optimism, doesn't he?
ReplyDeleteWhat sweet photos! I just adore Molly's hair :)
ReplyDeleteMolly cracks me up! And I think Trenton gets a kick out of making Charlotte mad sometimes too. I'd say that it's a big brother thing, but I remember trying to make my little brother mad when I was a kid too. So I'll just call it an older sibling thing. Because I definitely wasn't a bad child.... ;)
ReplyDeleteHehehehe I loved this, I am still smiling :) I think you are absolutely awesome and so real and I just love you to bits!! Your posts are so funny and you tell it like it is :) I love "It's like he's happy that she's not" line hahahaha, gosh your kiddos are adorable!!! Just another typical day as a mum, right?
ReplyDeletei cannot get over that shade of red hair your little lady's got going on!
ReplyDeleteAw! I understand, my daughter was also quite...honest with how she felt. Still is. If she's upset, she won't hesitate to let everyone know it.
ReplyDeleteI burst out laughing like a crazy person at that face! HILarious! It still sounds like a decent day. You got out of the house and it doesn't look like their were any major tantrums..
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, her hair is SO cute!!!!
